Clue: On Stage Auditions

It’s a dark and stormy night, and you’ve been invited to a very unusual dinner party. Each of the guests has an alias, the butler offers a variety of weapons, and the host is, well, dead. So whodunit? Join the iconic oddballs known as Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock, and Colonel Mustard as they race to find the murderer in Boddy Manor before the body count stacks up.

Based on the cult classic film and the popular board game, and directed by Patricia Greene-Pawelczyk, Clue, On Stage is a madcap comedy that will keep you guessing until the final twist. Playwright Sandy Rustin adapted Jonathan Lynn's 1985 screenplay for the stage, with Hunter Foster and Eric Price providing "additional material".

ex-husbands.

Colonel Mustard: pompous, dense, and a blowhard military man.

Professor Plum: arrogant, academic, easily impressed by himself.

Mr. Green: appears timid, but is officious and a rule follower. He is often anxious.

Ensemble Female Roles:

Cook: gruff with a threatening presence.

Singing Telegram Girl: tap dancer with a heart of gold

Mr. Boddy: slick and a little gangest type.

Ensemble Gender Neutral Roles:

Something Rotten was written by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell with music and lyrics by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick.

Set in the 1590’s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as “The Bard”.  When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theater involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical.  But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night, they realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self, and all “that jazz.”

Performance dates are May15-17 and May 22-24, 2026

The Gin Game

Auditions for The Gin Game, will be held on January 13, 2026, at 6:30PM at the Dorset Playhouse, 104 Cheney Rd. Fans of Jessica Tandy and Hume Cronyn are invited to audition for the March production of The Gin Game, by D.L. Coburn. This Staged Reading will be performed on Friday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 15 at 2 p.m.

Director Josh Bond is looking for one male and one female to portray a duo who meet in a senior living community where they feel entirely out of place. The story explores their tentative steps toward friendship and acceptance of their new surroundings. As they reveal their pasts to each other, they make discoveries about themselves…and don’t always like what they find.

The Gin Game debuted on Broadway in 1977, starring Tandy and Cronyn and directed by Mike Nichols. It won the Pulitzer Prize for Best Play in 1978. The Dorset Players’ staged reading will allow actors to read from a script following a light rehearsal schedule in the two months from casting to performance.
