COVID-19 Vaccine Update
On Dec. 23rd, CVS Health was onsite giving the initial dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to Weinberg Campus nursing home residents and employees. We were very pleased with how well everything went and will let you know as soon as we learn from CVS when vaccines will be available to Dosberg Manor residents.
In the meantime, please review the links below for additional information and to help answer any questions that you may have.

  • Watch a live recording of our COVID-19 Vaccine Informational Webinar with John Thurairajah, MD, CMD, Medical Director of Rosa Coplon Living Center.

“I am proud to have received the COVID-19 vaccine. Aside from some mild soreness lasting a day, I feel great. It feels good to know I am doing my part to fight the virus!”

Ongoing Safety Precautions

The COVID-19 vaccine has certainly brought excitement to our campus! Although this is a step in the right direction, we are not letting our guard down. We continue to adhere to the following safety precautions to protect and care for residents and staff on campus.

  • Per Department of Health (DOH) recommendations, please do not take residents out of Dosberg Manor except for medically necessary appointments. Staying onsite is the best way to protect residents from contracting COVID-19.
  • Care for residents with COVID-19 is provided within one unit to prevent the potential spread. We continue to work closely with the DOH to follow the latest recommendations and requirements.
  • To ensure safety for everyone, all staff wear personal protective equipment required by the DOH, including N95 masks, eye protection throughout all units and resident areas (face shields or goggles), gowns, and gloves. Staff training on best practices has been ongoing as we strive to provide the best possible care. In addition, we continue to follow DOH guidelines to test staff for COVID-19.
  • Our facility uses a comprehensive, science-based disinfection program. We are extremely lucky to have a pulsed UV disinfection system proven to eliminate pathogens such as coronavirus from surfaces in seconds. This technology is also used in many hospitals. In addition, we continue to use our Storm 2 Pro Dual Pressure sprayer to help with sanitizing here on campus. The pressure sprayer can penetrate difficult areas beyond just surface cleaning. Our 7-step cleaning process follows CDC infection control guidance using hospital-grade disinfectants.

Safety Guidance on Gatherings & Outings

The following Department of Health (DOH) guidance remains in place for non-medically necessary outings for residents:

  • Limit close contact with others (stay six feet or more apart), avoid large gatherings, use technology to engage with others remotely.
  • Wear face masks or cloth face coverings.
  • Wash hands frequently.
  • Avoid sharing communal food/drinks.

Residents who leave the facility are required by the DOH to:

  • Quarantine or minimize contact with others prior to their return.
  • Test negative for COVID-19 within 24 hours before returning to the facility.
  • Quarantine upon returning for 14 days, and be tested at least 3 times during quarantine--including the first and last day.

Before exiting the building, residents and their family member/responsible party are required by the DOH to attest in writing that you:

  1. Are aware of the risks involved with leaving/taking the resident out;
  2. Will follow masking, social distancing, and hand hygiene practices to comply with CDC and DOH directives;
  3. Will notify the facility if the resident becomes ill within one week of leaving the facility;
  4. Will notify the facility if anyone with whom the resident socialized tests positive for, or exhibits symptoms for, COVID-19 or influenza within 14 days of the resident’s return to the facility;
  5. Will communicate to the facility a return date for the resident in accordance with the facility’s policy; and
  6. Will quarantine or minimize contact (or assist the resident to do so) to the extent safely possible prior to return to the facility.
