Hello Dosberg Manor Family Members and Responsible Parties,
As promised, I’m writing to share the results of the COVID-19 testing of our assisted living residents performed July 1st by the Department of Health. This testing is part of New York State's plan to test all assisted living residents.
Out of all the residents tested within three of our facilities, two residents in Dosberg Manor who have no symptoms tested positive for COVID-19. Our nursing team has notified the individuals and their family members/responsible parties. All other residents in Dosberg and our two other communities tested negative.
We continue to follow strict infection control guidelines, including:
- Residents who tested positive are in quarantine to minimize the chance for the virus to spread. Staff members interacting with the residents are using the appropriate and necessary personal protective equipment to protect themselves and other residents from the spread of the virus.
- Residents are screened and monitored for signs and symptoms of the virus daily.
- Employees wear masks at all times, are screened daily, and tested for COVID-19 weekly.
- Science-based, comprehensive disinfection practices include a pulsed UV disinfection system proven to eliminate pathogens such as coronavirus from surfaces in seconds. This cutting-edge technology is used in many hospitals. We also practice a 7-step disinfection process that follows CDC infection control guidance using hospital-grade disinfectants.
- We continue to practice social distancing whenever possible.
The health and well-being of our residents remains our top priority. We continue to follow all Department of Health procedures to combat the virus. I will keep you posted of any additional updates.
