Last week we trialed split dining room seating for dinner, serving our B side at 5 p.m. and this week we served our A side at 5:30 p.m. We implemented this as a way to ensure food temperatures are maintained. We will look into rotating the early and later serving soon. We are assessing this new system, and so far, it has been a success! Everyone’s medical needs were reviewed prior to implementing this new system. Given its success, we are making plans to start the same system for breakfast and lunch.
We are also discussing how to safely offer meals by unit, starting with the lunch meal. We will continue to share updates as we progress. Lastly, we are re-starting special meals once a week based upon resident requests.
