KCU Community –

As the COVID-19 Omicron variant spreads quickly and places an increasing strain on our health-care systems, it’s time to double down on our health and safety protocols and minimize transmission on KCU campuses as well as within our local communities.

Effective immediately, the Health and Safety Committee asks you to follow these KCU mitigation strategies through Monday, Feb. 28:

  • Complete the KCU Health Screen App each day prior to coming to campus.
  • Continue to follow the KCU masking mandate for employees that remains in place at all times while around others. Employees should consider wearing surgical masks or N/KN-95 instead of cloth masks, which are not as effective against the Omicron variant.
  • Maintain a minimum of 6-foot distance between yourself and all others outside your household, including in the cafeteria, the gym, meetings, etc.
  • Seating has been rearranged in both campus cafeterias to accommodate social distancing while eating on campus.
  • Conference room usage should be limited to allow for 6-foot social distancing; all others should plan to join remote.
  • Gym use for employees and students will require wearing a mask and following social distancing protocols.
  • During this time, we will implement some restrictions with our food services operations.
  • If you have not done so already, we encourage you to be fully vaccinated and boosted.

Please honor the Shared Employee Community Commitment and remember that our ability to keep our campuses open and insure we deliver curriculum to our students uninterrupted is dependent on each of us.

We will continue to monitor and reassess the situation, as well as review and adapt our mitigation strategies, as needed. For updates and further information, visit the KCU COVID-19 webpage.

Let’s all double down so you and others don’t stay down. Protect yourself and protect each other.

Sincerely,
Jamie Hirshey
