Pinnacle Prevention received a $974,050 Food Insecurity Nutrition Incentive (FINI) grantfrom the United States Department of Agriculture. This second round of funding will be used to continue the Double Up Food Bucks Arizona program at all existing sites, and will also be used to expand to more areas across the state. This funding will be split over the course of four years. Double Up Food Bucks Arizona began in 2016 with only eight locations. In just two years, the program has tripled in size. We can't wait to see where this grant will take us!

Saving SNAP: New market equipment
Back in July, one of the companies that provides machines for accepting SNAP/EBT at farmers markets was shutting down. Thanks to generous donations and the support of
Vitalyst Health Foundation and
Valley of the Sun United Way, the affected markets were able to get new equipment! In less than 48 hours, enough money was raised to allow the Payson Farmers Market, Orchard Community Learning Center, and the Tucson Heirloom Farmers Markets to continue accepting SNAP/EBT. Double Up Arizona thanks everyone who contributed to our fundraiser. Because of you, markets were able to continue serving families on SNAP without interruption.
Local farmers and farmers markets uplift our communities socially, culturally, and economically. With their help, we can lead happier and healthier lives.
