Resources for helping professionals

In a recent training for Hospice staff, we showed our 20-minute video titled, When Your Patient is Dying: Quality Care for Children & Families. The video incorporates the lived experience of families who had a family member who died after a diagnosis of an advanced serious illness, with the decades of professional experience of Drs. Nathalie Johnson and Gregory Thomas.

In the discussion following, one of the attendees asked this question: How do we get this video to every physician who has to tell a patient or a patient’s family that there is no treatment that will save their life?

Here’s how: Order it from our website for the low cost of $19.95 and show it in your hospital, hospice, or medical setting. The package includes how to use it in a Grand Round setting for a 45 to 60-minute presentation, including an introduction and discussion questions.

You can also find free resources through Dougy Center's online toolkit for helping professionals. Find the toolkit here.
