A New Way We're Recognizing Volunteers!
|
|
Dougy Center would like to help recognize the exceptional ways that you show up throughout the year and build upon the culture of Volunteer Excellence that already exists. We are starting a new volunteer incentive program with opportunities to win prizes throughout the year!
Prize: $100 gift card drawn every three months, winner will be notified
There are two ways to be entered in the drawing:
Be nominated! How? By a fellow facilitator! That's right — if you see someone rocking clean up, taking an extra-long volcano room shift, navigating a tricky situation eloquently, modeling fantastic facilitation skills, or any of the wonderful ways that make our volunteers stand out... grab a card and fill it out to recognize that person. At the end of the quarter, all of the names of those recognized will go into the drawing.
Attend all of your scheduled groups in a three-month period. No need to do anything but show up! Your Group Coordinator will submit your name in the drawing if you have been to all of your scheduled groups for that quarter. If you facilitate in several groups, your name will be added for each group that you have perfect attendance.
Where do I get a card to nominate? Your Group Coordinator will show you the supplies and orient you to the process (Don't worry — it's easy!). They will also try to give periodic reminders to nominate each other, but Group Coordinators can't nominate Facilitators- only other Facilitators!
Our intent is for this to be a fun, feel-good activity to showcase all of the awesome things that you all do! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Valenca at [email protected].

It's Complicated: Death, Grief, & Estranged Relationships
|
June 8, 2023, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
FREE for Volunteers
When someone dies, it is not uncommon for people to assume that our relationship with the person (or people) was a positive one. Navigating grief after the death of someone in our lives can be inherently complex, because relationships are complex. Just like grief, there can be complicating factors that make a loss even more challenging — especially mental health issues, abuse, substance use, unresolved conflict, or estrangement were involved. Join us in this webinar where we will discuss the challenges people face when grieving the death of someone with whom they had a complex and complicated relationship.
