Kids Heart Challenge
Our school is set to kick-off the KIDS HEART CHALLENGE! (formerly Jump Rope for Heart) We are so excited to participate in this service-learning program from the American Heart Association. Students will learn about taking care of their own hearts and participate in cardio-pumping, high energy, fun, jumping challenges in class and have an option to help raise life saving donations as a school.
We'll be kicking off our event during classes until FEBRUARY 19th. We will talk with our students about the work the AHA does and challenge students to start living a healthy lifestyle. With the help of our friends, the heart heroes, our school is going to fight Heart Disease and help get rid of it for good!
If you choose to collect a donation, they will help their class earn heart heroes to clip to their backpacks! Please remember, our goal is to reach these levels as a team - not individually. If the CLASS reaches a level, then everyone in the class will be rewarded the thank you gifts above. Since this is a custom set-up for KMSD, the KHC app and website
WILL NOT reflect the TEAM awards that are on the parent letter.

Here are four easy steps to get your student registered for this year’s Kids Heart Challenge:
1.Go to your school’s KHC page:
2. Click on the Sign Up button
3. Create a username and password (or use last year’s) and then fill out the registration form
4. Share your personal fundraising link and heart healthy message with friends and family.

AND/OR Download the FREE mobile app Kids Heart Challenge and register your student that way
Thank you for joining us as we challenge each other to keep our heart healthy and raise donations for kids with special hearts. We will be raising Donations until February 19th

Our Mission: Create opportunities to enhance experiences by collaborating with parents, teachers, students, and the community.

Announcements:
The PTO continues to meet on a monthly basis, with the focus on teacher support and appreciation. This year, we will be having Kindness Grams for all on February 19th. Each student will write words of kindness for a button, the buttons will quarantine for a week and then be delivered to students on the 19th! We wanted to focus on inclusion and kindness!

Don’t forget about effortless fundraising! Check out our Fundraising page to learn how you can support the PTO!
