The Dover Public Library is a Family Place!
 
Spend time together, play, make friends and talk one-on-one with specialists on child development during this enjoyable five-week workshop series beginning on Monday, March 2 from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm and ending on March 30. This program is designed for caregivers and children one to four years old. Register at library.dover.nh.gov or call 516-6052.
 
Poetry Contest 
 
The Dover Public Library is pleased to announce the 18th Annual Dover Public Library Poetry contest for grades K-12.  Contest entry forms will be available in mid-March but it is not too early to start working on those poems!  Prizes will be awarded in six different categories:  Grades K-2, 3 & 4, 5 & 6, 7 & 8, 9 & 10, and 11 &12.  Poems will be judged on originality, style and creativity.  Deadline for entry is April 15th. Students may pick up information about the contest at the Dover Public Library, any Dover school library, or at our website at library.dover.nh.gov.  All participants are invited to attend an "Evening of Poetry" on Monday, May 18th at 6:30pm; refreshments will be served.  Students are invited to read their poetry at this event, but this will be purely voluntary.  For more information about the contest please contact Denise LaFrance at 516-6050.
 

Family Yoga  
 
On Wednesday, March 4 and 18 from 4:00-4:30 pm , adults with kids are invited to try out a fun introductory yoga class. Learn some basic poses to share with your child. Bring a mat if you can. No experience necessary.
Multilingual Book Club
 
 Families with children ages birth through five are invited to this six session program cosponsored by the library and the Community Literacy Center at UNH. Each week there will be an interactive picture book presentation in a language other than English. The sessions will be on Thursdays from 11am-12pm beginning on March 5 ending on April 16. Series of the Month Club 
 
On Monday March 16 from 6-7pm , kids in grades 2-4 are invited to talk about the  The Last Firehawk  series while we munch on snacks and make a craft.
 
 Teen Book Group!  
 
The next meeting of Pizza & Pages will be held on
Wednesday, March 18 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm to discuss the book 5th Wave by Rick Yancey.
Copies of the book are currently available for borrowing at the adult circulation desk.  We encourage kids in grades 7 and up to attend.  The group will be very informal with pizza and refreshments being served.   Join us to hang out with friends and maybe meet new ones.  Hope to see you there.  Questions email t.weinberger@dover.nh.gov or call 516-6050 and ask for Tina. 
New!! Homeschoolers Meet-up 
 
Come to the first Homeschoolers Meet-up group on Friday, March 20 from 1:30-2:30pm . Parents are invited to come meet other homeschooling families and share ideas. Kids can meet other homeschoolers and participate in wind STEM activities.

LEGO Saturdays

Join us on March 7, 14, 21, and 28, for Lego   Saturdays. Use our LEGOs to build and     create. Meet new friends and share your ideas. Work on   interesting challenges and have fun!
 
 
Creation Station
 
Kids of all ages are invited to drop-in and make and take a Rockin' Cardinal March 8-14 and a Paper Plate Rainbow March 22 - 28 .
Crafternoon    
 
Kids in grades 1 and up are invited to make   paper beads from  magazines. Drop in anytime on Thursday, March 12 from 3 - 5pm .

Matinees are held in the Library Lecture Hall every Saturday at 2:00 pm.

Paws for Reading
 
Murphy, a certified therapy dog, and her handler,   Karen, will be in the children's room on S aturday, March 21 from 10:00 am-11:00 am. Murphy is a great listener and very patient with beginning readers.
