Family Literacy Month    

 
We will be celebrating Family Literacy Month with lots of fun programs and activities:                                         
Take the 21 Day Read Aloud Challenge. Families that read aloud for at least 15 minutes for 21 days during the month of November will be entered in a special raffle .
 
Saturday, November 9, 3:00-5:00  
Superhero You! Local artist Ryan Higgins will lead this drawing workshop.
 
Saturday, November 16, 11:00-12:00pm                                      
Raptors, Reptiles, and Mammals
The Center for Wildlife will bring their live animal ambassadors.

Happy Birthday Sesame Street
  P ancakes with Elmo from 9:00- 11:00 am. Crafts, games, and activities until 1:00 pm.
Family Yoga 
 
On Wednesday, November 13 from 4:00 - 4:30 , adults with toddlers are invited to try out a fun introductory yoga class. Learn some basic poses to share with your child. Bring a mat if you can. No experience necessary.

STEM Saturday 
 
Kids in grades K and up are invited to join us on Saturday, November 16 at 2:00 pm to make peg board marble runs. We will create bends, twists, and turns and let gravity take your marble down the run! Can you build the longest marble run? The slowest? All materials provided.   
 
 
 Teen Book Group!  
 
The next meeting of Pizza & Pages will be held on Wednesday, November 20 @ 6pm.  The group will be discussing City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau.  Copies of the book are currently available for borrowing at the adult circulation desk.  We encourage kids in grades 7 and up to attend.  The group will be very informal with pizza and refreshments being served.   Join us to hang out with friends and maybe meet new ones.  Hope to see you there.  Questions email t.weinberger@dover.nh.gov or call 516-6050 and ask for Tina. 
 
 
Series of the Month Club

LEGO Saturdays

Every Saturday is a Lego Saturday!
(November 2, 9, 16, 23, 30)  Use our LEGOs to build and create. Meet new friends, share your ideas, work on a challenge, and have fun!
 
Friends of the Library Book Sale
 
The Book Sale continues in November with great deals on thousands of remaining books. During November 4 - 10, the remainder of the items will be sold for the bargain price of just $1.00 per bag or boxful. Any leftover books will be given away for free beginning Tuesday, November 12. No book donations will be accepted from October 15 until November 25. In addition to books, we will have a silent auction for a vintage card catalog with 12 drawers and a 24-drawer (CD sized) cabinet. Minimum bids for each start at $50. The current high bid will be posted at the Circulation Desk.
Creation Station
 
Kids of all ages are invited to drop in anytime between November 3 and 9 to make and take a Bear Finger Puppet and November 17 and 23 to make and take a Turkey Craft .
 
 
Crafternoon    
 
Drop in between 3:00-5:00 pm on       Thursday , November 21 to make and take a Harvest Corn Craft.

Murphy, a certified therapy dog, and her handler, Karen, will be in the children's room on S aturday, November 16 from 10:00-11:00 am.   Murphy is a great listener and very patient with beginning readers.
