We are just a few weeks away! The ribbons are here, the trophies are polished and awaiting the names of the 2021 winners to be engraved.
I would like to go over a few important things that you should know before you arrive at the Fairgrounds:
Remember that ALL PAPERWORK needs to be complete for your entries to be accepted, if you have not sent in your Covid releases your entries will not be processed, and checks must accompany your entries as well.
We will be posting the stall charts on our FB page and via email (you can sign up for our email/newsletter on the website) so you will know where to go when you arrive. Camper spots will also be assigned via email. If you are coming in on Wednesday, please be sure that you have signed up for the early stall (there is an additional fee) so that Jess knows that you are arriving early. Remember you need an email confirmation from Jess in order to ship in on Wednesday. Please be sure to order your shavings, hay, and stall mats from McCarthy Enterprises (207-474-8952) early so that they will be at your stalls when you arrive.
The office will be different this year. We would like to welcome our new secretary Lisa Silvester to the DMF team. Lisa will be working through a window so that we can keep traffic through the building to a minimum. We will be following all state and federal CDC guidelines related to Covid-19 and we ask that if you have not been feeling well please stay home. Regardless of your vaccination status, masks are recommended per CDC guidelines when in close quarters with people (restrooms, office area, in-gate area). Please help us to keep everyone safe.
The Horsemanship Challenge score will be from the open equitation class on Friday, not Saturday as previously stated in the prize list.
We will provide any updates for the show via email or Facebook so please make sure that we have your email address. We will add your email to our list if you sign up for the newsletter on the homepage of the website. A lot of our communication at the show will be via email. Class counts can be found on horseshowing.com.
There will be a trainers meeting Thursday afternoon after the warm up. Please listen for announcements for time and location. Most likely it will be around 4:30, in the bleachers on the leaderboard side of the arena. We ask that all trainers attend this meeting.
Everyone, please remember that bicycle riding by anyone under the age of 18 is limited to the area between the stabling and the camper sites and in the sheep barn only. The bikes can be hand walked anywhere else.
The DMF team is looking forward to seeing everyone soon! Please be sure to come and say hello to Ginger, Scott, Kate, Barb, Jess, Katie, Lisa, and Greg and let us know if there is anything that we can help you with.
Let’s get ready to Horse Show!
