April is here! There are five shows hosting classes this month, so please go to the Shows page on our website and put them on your show calendar.
For those of you hosting shows, we would like to let you “meet” three unrated judges who could be available to judge your show.
The first, Meghan Oathaut, is the trainer at SeaHorse Stables in Belfast, ME. She grew up in southern NH and started riding at the age of 5. She first rode with Pam Hunt and then Ginger Klingenstein Albert. She showed ponies and horses all the way through to the Junior Hunters, along with all of the equitation. Her favorite thing is starting young thoroughbreds.
The second is Brooke Austin of Lucky Clover Stables in Sanford, ME. Brooke has also been around horses all of her life and shown everything from the ponies, the jumpers, and right up through the Junior Hunters and the equitation. Brooke’s life long dedication and enthusiasm for the sport comes through to all of her students.
Our third is Shara Prieskorn. Shara is a native of Wakefield, MA. She rode with Olana Laffey competing in the Juniors and continued on into the Amateur Owner Hunters as well as the equitation. She now works for IEA and can also be seen at many shows stewarding, announcing, or as a show secretary. All three of these women would do a wonderful job judging your unrated shows. Feel free to contact Ginger to get their contact information.
New for 2021, we are excited to announce that the 2’6” Derby will be a $2500 class thanks to Copious Solutions joining with Mason “Noah” Dixon. Also new for this year is our $500 Hunter Futurity class, sponsored by West Neck Farm. This class is open to horses 4-7 years of age who compete in any of the 3 Derbies. Their score from the first round will place them in the Futurity Class- the Futurity must be entered on the entry blank.
We are also happy to announce new scholarships are available, please check out the details on the website.
Lastly, please remember we still need your help for the Footing Fund for the new schooling area. Every little bit will help! Be well and safe. Happy Spring!
