Message From The President
Our world has significantly changed in the past few weeks, but one thing that we can all count on is that we will always have horses in our lives. Those of you who board your horse may have been asked to stay away from the barn, I can only imagine the hardship of not getting to see your 4 legged friends every day. I think that we have all taken a lot for granted, a hug from a friend or loved one, spending time with friends…but most of all for us horse people the smell of the barn, the feel of that warm nose, those lips feeling for a carrot or peppermint in your hand, the feeling of flying as you go over a jump and the feeling of a great accomplishment when you put together a wonderful course. We will all appreciate these things much more once this is over! Until then, our memories must satisfy our urge to go and pat our best friend. Please send us your pictures on Facebook of memories of DMF over the years.

We at DMF are following the guidelines set forth by USEF and NEHC and will not recognize any points through May 3, 2020. We will be looking at many options for the fall finals, so please check in to our website or Facebook page for information.
We also would like for everyone to participate in the Horsemanship Challenge by asking our riders to submit three questions to ginger@downeastmedalfinals.com . They must come from either the USHJA horsemanship study guide or one of our educational articles found in the newsletters from October 2019 to the present. The questions must be either multiple choice or true/false and fit with either the 12 and under group or the 13-17. I cannot wait to see what you decide to submit. Now is your chance to be part of the show!

Scott, Kate, Katie, Barb, and myself hope that we will see the end of this situation soon. Until then, we hope that you all can stay well, keep dreaming of fun times ahead. Thank you for your patience and we will see you soon!
