Message from the President
Hello everyone,

I hope that your show seasons are well underway! The weather has been perfect!

A question has been popping up about qualifying for DMF 2021 that I would like to address. Early in 2020, when we were deep in the pandemic and there were no shows on the horizon, DMF announced that anyone who qualified and had shown in 2019 would be eligible to show at DMF 2020. We ended up not running which nullified those specifications. However, we are accepting any points earned in 2020 as well as 2021 for qualification for DMF 2021.

New for 2021, in all three Derbies we will be paying out to 12 places versus eight in previous years! Also, Stalls will be available Wednesday afternoon for early move-in (at an additional cost). Arrival time to be announced at a later date

This month we would like to acknowledge all of the fathers out there who day after day support their horse loving children and wives. Quite by accident, we realized that we are very dad-honoring at DMF. Not to overlook the immense contribution of horse show moms, but we suddenly noticed that we have one scholarship and two medal classes named to honor some dads who were important to the show organizers: the Peter N. Thompson Short Stirrup trophy (Kate McDaniel’s father), the Bernard Klingenstein/Euclid Albert Mini-Medal trophy (Ginger and Mike Alberts’ dads) as well as the Jim Tynan Memorial Scholarship (Barb Baker’s dad). This year we will also be memorializing Charles Thayer (Meghan Oathaut’s dad) with the high point Maine rider in each Derby. These are all fathers, who in one way or another, supported their children in their pursuit of equestrian activities. Please join us in wishing all devoted dads a very happy Father’s Day.

Have a great June!
