Hello to all,
As we enter the last month of 2020 we can reflect on a lot of things, positive and negative. I choose to look at the positive… how in the face of a worldwide pandemic the horse world managed to pull off a show season, how people within the horse world have managed to work together to keep others safe and work towards a common goal, how once again horses have helped to keep us all afloat. This year has been incredibly hard for everyone, but I think that most of us can honestly say that we have learned a new inner strength to be able to look ahead and see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I am happy to say that the planning for DMF 2021 is underway. Please save the dates in your show calendars, September 16-19, 2021. We will be adding some new sponsorship categories this week so be sure to check the website (www.downeastmedalfinals.com) and see if you can help us put on this wonderful show.
One of the new ideas that we are working on is a $500 Hunter Futurity, for 4-7 year olds. This would be run concurrent with the regular Hunter Derbies, using the scores from the first round to recognize some of our young horses showing. We would love to hear from someone interested in sponsoring this class.
We will be working on the schedule as well in order to provide smooth running days for everyone. Please let us know if there is anything that you would like to see at DMF 2021.
