Please follow these step-by-step instructions for downloading and using the app:
Visit the Apple App Store, Google Play, or other app shop and search for “Cvent Events (business).” Click to download it, the “2021 NASW Virginia Annual Conference” screen will appear. If it does not, type “NASW,” and the conference app will appear.
A Login page with the conference countdown to kickoff will appear when you open the app; enter your first and last name and email with which you registered for the conference. Push the arrow to submit.
An “Almost Done!” screen appears and asks you to check your email for a code that is auto-sent by NASWVA Education Director Jaime Strohhacker. Copy the code. Click back to the App Store, which will open again to the code page. Paste or type the code and push arrow. You’re in!
Using the App to Maximize Your Conference Experience
How to receive notifications of conference changes and news: If you scroll on the opening screen, you’ll see three featured sessions and a “Don’t miss out!” section that enables you to choose if you want to get notifications about schedule changes, promotions, and other activities. Click on your preference.
How to be added to the attendee roster list so people can find, message, or meet me: Push the “Attendees” button near the top. A pop-up banner at the top gives you the choice on whether to “go visible” so fellow attendees can “see” you or to “stay hidden.” If you “stay hidden, attendees will not be able to spot you on the attendee list, check out your profile, or connect with you. You can see all of the other “visible” attendees sorted by first name. You’ll see their employer as well.
How to create a personal profile: Go to “Profile” on the bottom bar of the main screen. Under your name on the Profile page, click “View profile.” Click the pencil in the corner to add your visibility, personal details, photo, title, company, and up to a 2,500-character biography. We encourage everyone to at least add their photo (push on the camera in the avatar circle), title, and company. This helps people connect to you who may be within your specialty.
How to find the full agenda: On the bottom of the screen is a banner bar of icons: Home, Schedule, Profile, More. Start with Schedule and click on All Sessions at the top. This brings up the full agenda for all three days. You can sort by date, time, speaker, and other filters.
How to create a customized schedule: In the “All Sessions” page of the app, you will see a circle with a plus sign beside each session name. Click on the session to open to the description, speaker, length of session, and date. To add it to your “My Schedule”—a calendar of your chosen sessions—just push the arrow to go back out of the session description and push the circle with the plus sign. You’ll receive a popup confirmation that it has been added. Click on “My Schedule” at the top to see all of your chosen sessions and events.
How to find surveys: Go to the Profile icon at the bottom of the page. “Surveys” is at the bottom of that list below Account Settings and Announcements.
How to visit the Exhibit Fair or find exhibitors and sponsors: Click on “More” at the bottom of the page. You’ll see Speakers, Attendees, Exhibitors, and Sponsors. Click Exhibitors for an alphabetical order of the 17 exhibitors. To visit Lead Event sponsor NASW Assurance Services Inc. or Lunch & Learn sponsor Anthem HealthKeeper, click on “Sponsors” and again on their name. That takes you into their virtual booth. If you click on small purple button with the phone, the company representative’s number pops up; click for it to call and connect.
