With increased monitoring to prevent abuse, Auburn will continue allowing up to two hours of free parking and courtesy ticket options on streets in the downtown area. The consensus reached at a recent City Council meeting was to revisit the program’s status in about six months. Auburn Police Department will be buying new software to more efficiently monitor the free two-hour parking system.
The City of Auburn & Auburn Downtown BID created a special parking program to encourage patrons to return to our businesses, shops & restaurants. The program includes on-street spaces & the Downtown Parking Garage, yet does not include the City’s long-term lots on Dill Street, Court Street & Seminary Avenue. This program is honored per day, so moving will not allow you additional free parking. After two hours, please park in a long-term lot or in the garage. Parking enforcement monitors cars Monday – Friday 9AM – 5PM. The City is issuing courtesy tickets if you haven’t received a parking ticket in the past 6 months. For info contact: City Manager Jeff Dygert 315.255-4146.
