Santa Cruz Moves to Purple Widespread Tier
At noon today, the Governor's office announced new restrictions to control the increasing spread of coronavirus in California. Purple Tier restrictions effective tomorrow for Santa Cruz County include:

  • Restaurants | outdoor only
  • Retail | 25% indoor capacity
  • Bars | closed (unless serving food)
  • Hair salons & barber shops | open with restrictions
  • Fitness clubs | outside only
  • No indoor gatherings

Friday, Nov 20, 2pm | COVID-19 Town Hall for Local Employers
With local COVID-19 cases on the rise, many employers are concerned about the health and safety of customers and staff. Local employers are invited to join Santa Cruz County Public Health officials for a free, virtual town hall to learn about current and future workplace issues related to managing the coronavirus pandemic, including:

  • What resources are available for local employers?
  • What resources are available for employees?
  • What is Santa Cruz County Public Health's role?
  • What is AB 685 and what does it mean for you?
  • What should you do if you have a workplace exposure?

The town hall with be held Friday, Nov. 20, from 2 PM - 3PM. The format will include a presentation and question and answer period, and is open to all local employers.

Tuesday, Nov 24, Noon | Downtown Restaurateur Peer Circle
The Downtown Association of Santa Cruz is now hosting a monthly Peer Circle for member restaurateurs on the last Tuesday of each month at noon. The goal is simple: to connect downtown restaurant owners to each other to support one other! In our kick-off meeting we covered topics like outdoor expansion areas, seasonal and COVID affected revenues, and delivery service challenges. The Downtown Association's regular Marketing, Finance, and Social & Legislative committee meetings as well as our monthly Board meetings are open to all members.
