Start your summer with the FREE Downtown Days Festival Friday through Sunday, June 3, 4 and 5 in Downtown Lee's Summit. Festivities include live entertainment, carnival rides, festival food and so much more.


Festival Hours

June 3: Noon - 10 p.m.

June 4: 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.

June 5: 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. (carnival open until 5 p.m.)

National Trails Day

June 4


Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation invites people of all ages to participate in National Trails Day by heading out to the Rock Island Trail. From 9 a.m. to noon, live music, food vendors, special prizes and giveaways will be at participating trailheads including Hartman Park. Participants are encouraged to check in at multiple trailheads using a QR code for chances to win different prizes. For more information, call 816.969.1500.

Can I buy single-visit tickets at the door? No. Single-visit tickets must be purchased online


How can I renew my season pass? Season passes are renewed online.


How do I purchase a new season pass? New season passes must be purchased in person at Summit Waves, Longview Community Center or Lovell Community Center. A key fob pass will be issued at the time of purchase.

Lee's Summit Medical Center Recognizes Great Save


Those involved in saving the life of Xavier Scruggs, a Summit Christian Academy student who went into cardiac arrest during soccer practice, were reunited at City Hall earlier this month.


Gathered together were his teammates who administered CPR, the dispatcher who calmly guided CPR efforts, and paramedics and physicians who administered vital medical care.

Construction News 


Arnold Hall Parking Lot

Have you seen the Arnold Hall parking lot reconstruction? The parking lot was completely torn out and the new surface is being constructed using PaveDrain, a permeable articulating concrete block that improves how stormwater reacts to the surface. Upon completion, the public parking lot located on Third Street in downtown Lee's Summit will consist of 49 parking spaces.


Second Street Road Closure

Driving into downtown Lee's Summit? Southwest Second Street between Southwest Noel and Southwest Lakeview will be closed to thru traffic between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., until June 20, weather permitting. The closure is required for a water line replacement.

New Exhibits at the Lee's Summit History Museum 


W. Ferrell Shuck Journal Room

Bound copies of the Lee's Summit Journal dating back to the late 1800s can be found in the W. Ferrell Shuck Journal Room named after W. Ferrell Shuck, the Lee’s Summit Journal publisher from 1965 to 2000. The public can view the room by appointment only.

Artists and Musicians – Musical Families of Lee’s Summit


A rotating exhibit at the History Museum features musical families of Lee's Summit, including jazz musicians Pat and Mike Metheny, the Browning Family and Matt Lewis. Matt Lewis, an Elvis impersonator and musician, debuted his first Elvis performance in a talent show at Pleasant Lea Middle School when he was 12 years old.
