Save the Date: Employee Appreciation Week
Fall will be here before we know it, and we're looking forward to our second-annual
Employee Appreciation Week
, scheduled to take place during the third week in September,
September 16 - 20
. We're working with community partners including Downtown companies, retailers, restaurants and cultural institutions to plan a series of
free events
each day, all designed to celebrate the 29,000 people
who work in Downtown Syracuse.
We don't want to spill all of the beans just yet, but in the interest of providing a sneak peek:
- Many of the events will be built around traditional Downtown lunch hours.
- Employees will have an opportunity to participate in a different free "Lunch and Learn" type of activity every day, with the exception of Friday.
- There will be a Health and Wellness event during the Downtown Farmers Market on Tuesday, and the Downtown Coffee Break will return for its fourth serving!
- A Friday Finale will pit Downtown companies against one another in a friendly Tug of War competition. There will be a series of outdoor games available for Downtown employees and a $1 lunchtime sample session. Plus, DJ Bella will return to Perseverance Park to keep the fun going into the afternoon.
*Calling all creatives: Start planning your next office supply order. We're bringing the popular Post-It Note War first introduced during last year's Downtown Employee Appreciation Week event. We'll release the full contest rules in the coming weeks, but all designs must be up by Monday, September 16. Voting will take place throughout the week, and close to the public Friday afternoon, September 20.
Click here to flip through last year's photo gallery of the "Friday Finale" in Perseverance Park. We also posted a photo gallery of all of the great entries in our Post-It Note War!
