The Downtown Committee of Syracuse, Inc. is hiring a Director of Environmental Operations. This position directs and participates in the daily operating duties of multiple grounds sites throughout Downtown Syracuse to ensure the completion of maintenance activities and related projects. The ideal candidate will have experience managing multiple projects and staff, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrate ability to work productively with a wide range of constituencies utilizing sound judgement. This position will provide direction for all maintenance activities throughout the Central Business District while ensuring compliance with safety, legislative, environmental and company requirements. The position also entails organizing, planning and implementing routine maintenance for equipment, motor pool, and garage facility, as well as coordination and management of operations for Downtown Committee events and management of parking lot operations.

Call for Artists! Deadline Extended
The Downtown Committee of Syracuse and the Southern Downtown Neighborhood Association are collaborating to beautify Salina St. through the Salina St. 10 vacant storefront activation program! Artists and cultural institutions are invited to submit proposals for temporary, illuminated window installations that promote a more inviting and engaging downtown streetscape. Artists of all mediums and levels of experience are encouraged to apply! Selected artists will have the opportunity to prominently display their talents in Downtown Syracuse and receive compensation for their work. See the attached RFP for information on how to apply! Free Music Concerts Return to Downtown
The community can look forward to free concerts returning to Downtown Syracuse in Clinton Square and Hanover Square! Starting on July 26, the Party In The Square returns to Clinton Square with live music, food vendors, and more, with a live performance by Dark Hollow and the Vagabonds. The performance continues every Wednesday through August 16. Just a block away, Hanover Thursdays return to Hanover Square on August 3 with live music, food, drinks and a pop-up vendor village. The first performance stars R&B Band Grupo Pagan.
