Construction Updates: Montgomery Street
As the City of Syracuse Water Department shifts its work to the intersection of E. Fayette and Montgomery streets, the intersection will be closed for the next week or so. If your travels take you down Montgomery Street, please refer to this map for detours. Please note the following:

• On-street parking is still permitted on 200 & 300 blocks of Montgomery Street.
• Since a handful of parking lots and garages are only accessible from the 200 & 300 blocks of Montgomery and 200 & 300 blocks of E. Jefferson Streets, look for signage to identify “Parking Facilities Open.” These will be placed at identified intersections along with "Local Traffic Only" signage.
• With the intersection closed, cars may need to drive against the typical one-way traffic flow at certain times along Montgomery Street (when entering or exiting parking facilities). The city will cone off the area to help guide traffic flow.

Please visit the City of Syracuse's website for more details and related construction information that may affect you travels.

Right now, work is underway to remove seats installed in 1928, to replace them with new ergonomic seats made from modern materials, which will be more comfortable for theater-goers. The new seating and seat configuration will also add additional accessibility seating. If you'd like to own a piece of Syracuse history, the Landmark Theatre is selling some of the old seats for between $500 and $750 on its website. The seats have hosted generations of theater-goers and have witnessed hundreds of performances.
