Smiles Abound During CMSC's Awards Event

It was a sparkling evening as our award winners, hosts, sponsors, guests and friends came out to celebrate during our VIBRANT MAIN STREETS event in downtown Willimantic. We were thrilled to share the great work being done across Connecticut by our award winners, and to re/introduce our guests to downtown Willimantic. THANK YOU to everyone who came out and made our event such a success !

Check out photos from the night or read the Willimantic Chronicle's coverage of our event.

Thank you to all our sponsors, for not only supporting CMSC and our award winners, but also the Willimantic community. This year, we're leaving a lasting impact on our host city by donating 10% of our sponsorship proceeds to a local organization, the Willimantic Whitewater Partnership (scroll down to learn more).
Willimantic Whitewater Partnership
The WWP is working to bring people back to the Willimantic River waterfront. Guests at our event, as well as the Willimantic community, were invited to be a part of this special place
during a Blessing of the Earth ceremony with featured speakers Laura Pirie, Pirie Associates and CMSC Board member, and Mohegan Tribal Council Elder Christopher Harris, also known as "Painted Turtle".
CMSC was thrilled to announce during our awards presentation that thanks to our generous sponsors, we'll be presenting the WWP with a check for $2,900! We also announced that Eversource Energy has stepped up with a community grant for $2,500. These funds will be used towards a new handrail that will provide the public with safe access to the river. The WWP is doing a crowdfunding campaign to raise the remaining $2100 needed.   Click for more info and to donate.
