CMSC Blog: Communicating Downtown’s Assets to a Vastly Changed Audience
In our latest blog, Professional Affiliate – and former CMSC Board Member – Bernard Kavaler of Express Strategies, talks about how a community's messaging during COVID can cast new light on a downtown's assets, centered around a reinvigorated pride in local establishments from festivals to storefronts.
CMSC Members Wallingford & Danbury Welcome New Leadership
Wallingford Center Inc., the organization aimed at revitalizing and encouraging economic development in the downtown, recently named Kathy Lilley as its new Executive Director. In this role, Ms. Lilley will continue working closely with town departments, key stakeholders, and business and property owners to maintain a vibrant town center.
Meanwhile, CityCenter Danbury named downtown resident Angela Wong as Executive Director of the agency that promotes and helps maintain the district along Main Street. Ms. Wong served as acting director since June and before that was Events and Development Director for the organization, which she joined in 2017 after first volunteering when she and her husband moved to the downtown. She plans to build on recent CityCenter successes, and together with CityCenter’s Board will focus on strengthening relationships with people and companies that want to be downtown.
