Downtown is open for business during construction!
We're revitalizing the downtown core with enhanced roadways, beautified streets, tree-lined boulevards and improved, accessible pedestrian and cycle ways.

We're working hard to make your visits to Downtown easier during the reconstruction. We've added additional parking on side streets and at the former fire station lot at the corner of Randall Street and Navy Street. We've made parking at metres and municipal lots free all weekend. And we've implemented a first hour free parking program when you use the Honk mobile app with the promo code DOWNTOWN.

We also have helpful ambassadors around town to help you find your way to your favourite store or restaurant.

Please check for updates, and come visit to see all that downtown has to offer.
Upcoming events and other information
Discover Oakville by bike

Bike Month kicks off with Bike to Work day on May 27. Join the thousands of people who have discovered Oakville's superb trails, paths and on-street bike facilities - such as the Crosstown Trail with its helpful wayfinding, rest stops, and even bike repair stations. Whether you cycle to work or school, ride the trails with family on the weekend, or bike to get around town, you're sure to find a hidden gem in Oakville.
Closures due to high lake levels. Be safe.

Lake levels remain higher than normal and some areas are prone to sudden flooding and ponding when heavy rainfall is combined with easterly winds. Areas that are taped or fenced off may be unsafe and we ask that residents please respect the closures so that no one gets hurt. Staff are inspecting our shoreline, lakeside parks and harbours daily to assess conditions and take action where required.
Council business at Town Hall

The next Town Council meeting takes place on Monday, May 27 at 7 p.m. Join us at the meeting for the latest Council updates including a report on Bill 108 - the Proposed More Homes, More Choice Act and recommendations from the Administrative Services Committee and Community Services Committee meetings. You can also tune in to watch live coverage of the meeting on the town's YouTube channel.
