Wrap Up the Holidays Sustainably at the Gift Wrap Swap

Instead of buying new wrapping materials for the holidays, join the Office of Sustainability in their first-ever Gift Wrap Swap! If you have unused or gently used gift wrap, gift bags, tissue paper, ribbons, bows, or cards bring them in to swap or for others to use. If you don’t have any of these items and are in need, stop in to see what you can use and keep out of the landfill.

Monday, Dec. 18 I 9 a.m. – noon I Gateway Concourse

Everyone who brings in items to swap or uses donated items will receive a 15% coupon to use at the ESF bookstore!

There will also be a wrapping station, so you can bring in your unwrapped gifts and get ahead on your holiday to-do list sustainably with reused items!

Why is this important? Yearly, approximately 8,000 tons of wrapping paper (the equivalent of about 50,000 trees) is used to wrap gifts. Even worse, most commercial wrapping paper, gift bags, and cards are not recyclable because they are often coated in plastic or glitter.

Submit an Abstract for STRATUS 2024

Abstracts are being accepted for the Systems and Technologies for Remote Sensing Applications Through Unmanned Aerial Systems (STRATUS) 2024 Conference to be held at ESF May 20-22, 2024.

The emergence of low-cost and easy-to-use drones has led to an expansion of their use for numerous applications. These new platforms have enabled new imaging and earth remote sensing technologies and applications previously unavailable due to the high cost of manned aircraft or satellites. STRATUS brings together international academics, government, industry representatives, and domain specialists to share perspectives on this rapidly evolving topic.
