Dr. W.F. "Frank" Owsley Named Interim Dean


The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources has welcomed Dr. Frank Owsley into the role of interim dean, following Dr. Barry Lambert's transition to Associate Provost and Associate Vice President for Retention and Persistence at Tarleton State. A longtime faculty member, Owsley has served as Department Head, Professor, and Associate Dean. The search for a permanent dean will take place over this year.

Tarleton State Student Chapter of TWS Named National Student Chapter of the Year

The Student Chapter of The Wildlife Society has been selected from 155 nationwide student chapters. They will receive the award in October at the National Wildlife Conference.

Texas Agribusiness Tour

COANR students had the opportunity to visit businesses across the state this summer. They visited the Texas Capitol, The Texas Department of Agriculture, the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, Sanderson Farms, AgTexas Farm Credit, and more!

Texas Hill Country Ecology Field Camp

Students in WSES 4340 gained hands-on experience in radiotelemetry, deer population surveys, plants and insect ID, land management and more at the Texas Hill Country Ecology Field Camp this summer. They also visited Bamberger Ranch, Hershey Ranch, and Balcones Canyonlands NWR to learn from their respective land managers. Check out the video for a first-hand look at what they experienced!
