Meet Dr. Guadalupe Salazar: 

 

Guadalupe exemplifies courage, inspiration and struggle. The daughter of migrant workers, she worked in the beet fields as a young girl, dropping out of school at age 7 and married at 15, with 4 children by 23. When she was 24 her husband asked her for a divorce, and it wasn't until Lupe was divorced that she went after her educational dream. She not only got her GED but got a 2 yr degree from Aims, her bachelors at UNC.At the age of 50 she got her Masters AND a Ph.D.! She is a role model to students, saying how staying in school and graduating is important to earning a good living. In addition to her important work at CSU, Lupe is also a speaker for Hispanic events, an advisor for Museo de las Tres Colonias and president elect for the Women's Resource Center. She is also a commission for the Minority Health Advisory Commission with the Co Dept of Public Health & Environment.
