Everyone,
I was honored to represent Dade County this week at the GA School Superintendents Meeting where I had the opportunity to talk with
Governor Kemp and his staff.
Our fall athletic seasons are closing out and we are proud of our students' accomplishments. Our students are hard-working, intelligent, talented young people. Their kindness never ceases to amaze me.
Each month at the Regular Board Meeting, we highlight Character Acts at each of our schools. This week's story from Dade County High School is a powerful example of the kind of people we have here in Dade County. Stay tuned for more details about Camden next week.
And, speaking of character and students... check out what two of our students
(Valedictorian Karen Zheng and Top Ten Scholar Abby Moore) had to say about
seeking KNOWLEDGE
and having
SELF-CONTROL
.
We continue to focus on academic rigor and a caring culture in our schools. This week,
Dade Elementary has a big visit from Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence. We wish DES well as they begin the process - first in Dade County Schools - to become a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence!
