Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday on January 18

The OLLI office will be closed on Monday, January 18, in celebration of Dr. King's birthday, and there will be no OLLI classes. However, other educational opportunities abound:
  • SOU, the cities of Ashland and Medford, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Jackson County Library Services and many other sponsors invite you to attend Southern Oregon's Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebration at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 18, on RVTV and streaming on Facebook.   • The City of Portland and others invite you to join World Arts Foundation in honoring Dr. King's life and legacy for the 36th year running, with a virtual retrospective program on Monday, January 18, Noon–5:00 pm. OLLI members are what makes our OLLI an extraordinary and vibrant program. Coffee Klatch with Rob & Larry
All OLLI members are invited to grab a cup of coffee/tea and join Rob Casserly, OLLI Assistant Director, and Larry Hunter, OLLI Council President, for an informal, free-form conversation about all things OLLI. There's no agenda, just friends and cohorts getting together to talk. The Zoom link will be emailed to registrants approximately 15 minutes beforehand.

Conversation Connections (Con-Cons) are one-time meetings on a specific topic of discussion. No preparation or teacher is required, just someone to facilitate the conversation so everyone has a chance to talk.

Lifelong Learning Opportunities
Picture a Scientist
SOU's STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Division invites you to a free screening of the documentary, "Picture a Scientist," viewable at any time from noon on Tuesday, January 19, through Thursday, January 21. "Picture a Scientist," an official selection of the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival, is a feature-length documentary chronicling the groundswell of researchers who are writing a new chapter for women scientists. Following the screening, SOU X-Factor, a group that supports the advancement of underrepresented faculty at SOU, will lead a virtual live panel discussion on Friday, January 22, 3:30–5:00 PM. The Klamath Mountains: A Natural History
