Happy Martin Luther King Holiday. If it were not for this dynamic man’s courageous efforts and sense of humanity, we would not have made such progress in this country; particularly, in the Deep South. He is without question one of the most important figures in the Civil Rights Movement. For many, Dr. King was a controversial figure. However, any person who moves the pendulum forward has a tendency to make people feel uncomfortable in their complacency. Today, we salute your works and efforts to ensure equity for ALL!!!
This afternoon, Abee and I celebrated the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday by visiting the Historic Lorraine Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee (which is now the National Civil Rights Museum) where the icon was murdered. We pulled out the cameras so we could shoot a few pics, and talk about what happened there as well as the impact he made on this nation and around the world; Additionally, we discussed the responsibility we have to keep "The Dream" alive. I was glad to see so many people of different races, ages, and backgrounds to commemorate the day.
