Dr. Nelson Wilhelm:
Nelson Wilhelm
I have had surgery on my tongue too so I am going to let my wife read it to you, or my daughter.
Daughter Julie:
Hi there, I am his daughter Julie, and dad is a doctor, so it is Dr. Nelson Wilhelm.
(starts to read Dr. Nelson Wilhelm's letter)
In my opinion, from 30 years pastoring, and 15 years working with Churches as the Associational Missionary, I would never have believed calling a “9 Marks” preacher with clear cult-like behaviors. If the Church had known there was a behind the scenes agenda, we would never had called him. During my time as a pastor and Associational missionary, if a Church asked a pastor to leave, he would, with the greater concern, and due diligence, being for the Church and the Church family. Also, in my opinion, it seems this “9 Marks” group is leaning toward a cult-like organization. The element of Calvinism has been disturbing too and is not biblical.
My Prayer is, the Lord will help us straighten this out and provide healing.
(ends of letter)
Dr. Nelson Wilhelm:
Thank you Julie for reading that for me. I hope to help the church realize what is going on and is able to save First Baptist Church before it is too late.
When I retired, I became a member of First Baptist Church 14 years ago.
Daughter Julie:
It was 2006, right?
Dr. Nelson Wilhelm:
Okay, I wish I could be there in person to help encourage everyone, but because of my cancer I won't be able to. But, I wanted to do my part in helping save First Baptist Church of Fort Smith, AR.
