Ashley is an award recipient as a result of her service to her community and those around her. She was recognized and honored at this year's Humanitarian Awards. Ashley is planning to major in art with a minor in psychology. She hopes to become an art therapist and continue to help others through healing and art.
February is Black History Month
A Proclamation on National Black History Month, 2022 from the White House: Each February, National Black History Month serves as both a celebration and a powerful reminder that Black history is American history, Black culture is American culture, and Black stories are essential to the ongoing story of America — our faults, our struggles, our progress, and our aspirations. Shining a light on Black history today is as important to understanding ourselves, and growing stronger as a Nation, as it has ever been. That is why it is essential that we take time to celebrate the immeasurable contributions of Black Americans, honor the legacies and achievements of generations past, reckon with centuries of injustice, and confront those injustices that still fester today.

Black History Month Events at DPHS
There are lots of activities planned throughout the month of February to celebrate Black History Month. Students can access these events via the DP Student Body Course on CANVAS or on Instagram @dphsmedia.

Principal Message
This is my final Principal Message for the Panther Post. I want to say thank you again for the amazing 8 years that I had serving this community as The Proud Principal of Dr. Phillips High School. This is an incredible community, faculty, and student body. Dr. Phillips High School, you have left pawprints forever on my heart.

To the Class of 2022: Seniors, I am so very proud of you. You have persevered through so many challenges these past four years that no other class has endured. You kept your heads held high and never lost focus on the end result of graduation. You truly demonstrate and live the Panther motto of being “Never Less Than The Best.”

Dr. Phillips families and community, with your support we have created and will continue to create enriching and diverse pathways to lead our students to success.

Once a Panther, Always a Panther!
