186TH ANNUAL DINNER
BEEBE HEALTHCARE'S
DR. DAVID TAM TO KEYNOTE
Monday, January 9, 2023, marks the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce’s 186th Annual Dinner. The State Chamber is pleased to announce David A. Tam, MD, MBA, CPHE, FACHE, president and CEO of Beebe Healthcare, as this year’s distinguished keynote speaker.
In 1920, Sussex County’s population was just under 44,000 people. Today, the county boasts a population of more than 245,000 and is the fastest growing county in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions. This growth is not just retirees, it includes people of every age and demographic. With growth, comes more employers and increased pressure on the delivery of public services.
As the only health system headquartered in and focused solely on Sussex County, Beebe Healthcare is leading the delivery of care to people who live, work, and visit the area. Read the full announcement >

EPISODE 4 | DATA ALWAYS CONNECTS TO STRATEGY
FEATURING RYAN HARRINGTON & TANYA WILLIAMSON
On the latest episode, we’re talking about data. Or is it "Day-tuh?" However you choose to pronounce it, data is the most important tool that businesses can use to drive decisions in the workplace. But only if you know where to find it, when to capture it, and how to analyze it. We sat down with data scientist, Ryan Harrington, from Tech Impact's Data Innovation Lab, and small business owner and active data user, Tanya Williamson, of Married to the Ring.

A couple of months ago the State Chamber hosted a webinar on the topic of wearable health technology. The intersection of health and technology has always been strong, but today’s “personal tech” (smart watches, heart, or blood monitoring devices, etc.) is taking health care to incredibly new and helpful levels. I uttered an audible “wow” when ChristianaCare’s Dr. Sarah Schenck stated plainly: “the pilgrimage to the doctor’s office will be largely over in another couple of years.” Read more >

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING YOUR MEMBERSHIP:
Over the last few years, we have updated and modernized functional areas of our operations. The next planned change is to transition our membership dues billing cycles to a calendar-year cycle.
In order to complete this transition, you will be invoiced a one-time prorated membership dues amount which will ‘pay you up’ through 12/31/23. Please be on the lookout for your prorated invoice. You should receive it via email no later than November 15th. Members already on January billing cycles will not see any changes or prorated bills. Moving forward, members will be billed your annual membership dues in mid-November for a January 1st effective date.
These changes will enable us to be more efficient and bring added focus to the delivery of great events, communications efforts, and policy advocacy to Delaware's business community. Please contact Melissa Brayman at mbrayman@dscc.com with any questions. Thank you for your continued support!
