Dear Friends, Welcome to the Holistic Child Health Newsletter. The goal of my holistic pediatric practice, and of this newsletter, is to inform and support parents to become more empowered as the primary health care providers for their children. Extending far beyond Western medicine's conventional treatments, holistic medicine and mindful parenting allow us to boost children's natural immunity, support their optimum health and wellness, safely heal any illnesses, and prevent disease-without dangerous side effects. Holistic medicine provides us with the tools to nurture the physical, emotional, social and spiritual health of your children. Over the coming months and years, I intend to use this newsletter to address some of your concerns as parents, share information that you might want to add to your knowledge base, and inform you of important issues and current events that are happening in the news, and in your area.

Brazil Has 404 Confirmed Cases of Microcephaly

Brazil has 404 confirmed cases of microcephaly
The Ministry of Health and the United investigating 3,670 suspected cases of microcephaly across the country, according to report released on Tuesday, 2. The government also reports that 404 cases have had microcephaly confirmation or other disorders of the central nervous system - 17 of them with respect to the Zika virus. In total, 4,783 suspected cases of microcephaly were registered by 30 January.
According to the report, it was reported 76 deaths from microcephaly or alteration of the central nervous system after birth or during pregnancy. Of these, 15 were confirmed to microcephaly, and in five cases there was a virus zika identification in fetal tissue.
According to the report, the 404 confirmed cases of microcephaly were registered in 156 municipalities in nine Brazilian states:. Alagoas, Bahia, Ceará, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte, Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul The Northeast region has 98% of municipalities with confirmed cases and the State of Pernambuco continues with the greatest number of municipalities with confirmed cases (56), followed by the states of Rio Grande do Norte (31), Paraíba (24), Bahia (23), Alagoas ( 10), Piauí (6), Ceará (3), Rio de Janeiro (2) and Rio Grande do Sul (1).
The Ministry of Health investigates all cases of microcephaly and other disorders of the central nervous system and the possible relationship with zika viruses and other infections. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared on Monday microcephaly as an international emergency.

NY Take Action: Dinowitz Introduces Bill Requiring Flu Shot for Pre-Schoolers
New York Assemblymember Jeffrey Dinowitz (D-Riverdale) issued a press release yesterday saying he introduced legislation that will require all children enrolled in state regulated pre-schools and daycare in New York State to get flu shots. He claims he did this in response to an NY Supreme Court judge throwing out a New York City regulation requiring pre-schoolers to get flu shots. Last year the CDC admitted yet again that the flu shot had no efficacy at all. Yet Dinowitz wants to force this ineffective product plagued with significant side effects, and still containing mercury in many versions, into the bodies of our youngest and most vulnerable citizens against the will and best judgment of the child's parents.
Dinowitz is also the author of A8329, the bill that would eliminate religious exemptions in New York. The flu shot bill language is not available yet, nor has it been issued an identification number. We do not know of any State Senator yet who will introduce the bill in the Senate.

In the last six months the Speaker of the New York Assembly, the Senate Majority Leader and two other State Senators have gone to prison on corruption charges. US Attorney Preet Bharara says more indictments are coming. In the last five years there have been dozens more convictions. Our legislature is corrupt to its rotten core. This proposal has nothing to do with public health and everything to do with Albany responding to the money lavished on the legislature by the vaccine industry.
Only two states require flu shots for pre-schoolers, New Jersey and Connecticut, but New Jersey allows an automatic exemption upon presenting a letter, and Connecticut offers an automatic opt out by filling out a form. In New York City and many other school districts around the state obtaining an exemption is extremely difficult. Our children's bodies do not belong to the vaccine industry and their toadies in Albany.

And, let's not ignore the big elephant in the room. Vaccinations. The vitamin K shot contains castor seed oil, which has been found to cross react with other proteins in tree nuts, peanuts, and seeds. The vitamin K shot is also manufactured using egg lecithin as the phospholipid to make the injection. The tetanus shot contains casein. The flu, MMR, and Varicella are likely to also contain egg protein. The Prevnar-13 vaccine contains soy protein. And, several vaccines contain modified food starch. Who knows if this food starch is derived from corn, or even gluten? What are the most common food allergies from which children and adults are suffering today? Tree nuts, peanuts, seeds, dairy, egg, soy, corn, and gluten........
Here's the most basic principle in immunology. When a protein is injected into the body, like food proteins are injected into babies, children and adults every time they receive a vaccination, especially when they are bound to the adjuvant, aluminum, the body's immune system will mount an immune reaction AGAINST the food proteins, priming the immune system to see the food proteins as foreign enemies. Once the body is re-exposed to any of these food proteins through the injection of the next vaccine, and/or through the ingestion in the diet, the immune system will mount a strong adverse reaction against the protein, causing what we know to be allergic symptoms. It's that simple.

Dr. Palevsky is a board certified pediatrician who utilizes a holistic approach in his work with children and families. Dr. Palevsky received his medical degree from the NYU School of Medicine in 1987, completed a 3-year pediatric residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, and enrolled in a 1-year fellowship training program in the out-patient department at Bellevue Hospital/NYU School of Medicine. Since 1991, his clinical experience has included working in pediatric emergency medicine at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in the Bronx, NY, serving as the Chief of the Pediatric Acute Care Unit at Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC, and working in in-patient and out-patient pediatric medicine, neonatal intensive care medicine, and newborn and delivery room medicine. Dr. Palevsky has also worked in a conventional, holistic and integrative pediatric practice at the NYC Beth Israel Center for Health & Healing- an integrative and complementary care medical facility. Currently, he runs his own holistic pediatric practice in Northport, NY and Manhattan.
