Draft FY 2022-23 Annual Action Plan and Amendment to FY 2019-20 Plan

Dear Valued Partners,
The San José Housing Department is pleased to provide this notice of public hearings and the availability of two draft documents that oversee the City's use of federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD):  

Fifth Substantial Amendment to the FY 2019-20 Annual Action Plan Regarding the Use of Funds from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development - Emergency Solutions Grant CARES Act (ESG-CV) funds. 

The Draft Annual Action Plan and the proposed Fifth Substantial Amendment both will be available for public review and comment from April 1, 2022, through May 1, 2022. They may be accessed on the Housing Department's website at www.sanjoseca.gov/housingconplan. You also can request a hard copy by calling the Housing Department at 408-535-3860. 

All public comments will be submitted to HUD. The public can comment in several ways on these two items:  

1) Attend the online Housing and Community Development Commission public hearing and approval of both the Draft Annual Action Plan and the Fifth Substantial Amendment items on April 14, 2022, starting at 5:45 PM. The agenda with Zoom information is posted at: https://www.sanjoseca.gov/your-government/departments/housing/about-us/housing-community-development-commission/agendas-minutes/-fsiteid-1 

2) Attend the online City Council public hearing and approval of the Draft Annual Action Plan on April 26, 2022, starting at 1:30 PM at: https://www.sanjoseca.gov/news-stories/watch-a-meeting 

3) Attend the online City Council public hearing and adoption of both the final Annual Action Plan and the Fifth Substantial Amendment items on May 3, 2022, starting at 1:30 PM at: https://www.sanjoseca.gov/news-stories/watch-a-meeting 

You can submit written comments before a City Council meeting by clicking a link on the City Council's agenda webpage, or by e-mailing the City Clerk (city.clerk@sanjoseca.gov) by 12:00 noon the day of the City Council meeting. 

In addition, you can send comments to staff directly: 

1) Send comments via email to housing.csj@sanjoseca.gov 

2) Send comments in writing via U.S. Mail addressed to the City of San José Housing Department, ATTENTION: Grants Management (PUBLIC COMMENT), 200 E. Santa Clara St, 12th Floor, San José, CA 95113.
