Drag boats return to Lake Lucas for KDBA Show-Me Shootout Presented by Lucas Oil this weekend

WHEATLAND, MO. (July 27, 2020) - Drag boat racing returns to Lucas Oil Speedway this weekend for the second time in 2020. The Kentucky Drag Boat Association Show-Me Shootout Presented by Lucas Oil is scheduled for qualifying rounds on Saturday and eliminations Sunday on Lake Lucas.

"We're looking forward to welcoming the KDBA back for a big weekend after a good opening event back in June," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said. "Fans can make it a full day and night by taking in both the drag boats and dirt-track action on Saturday as well."

Action is set to begin with sportsman qualifying at 9 a.m. Saturday with the first pro qualifying session set for 10:30 a.m. Afternoon rounds are set for 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Winners last month in the KDBA Inaugural Summer Thunder on Lake Lucas were Ed Anderson (Quick Eliminator), David Schmidt (Pro Eliminator), Tyler Lawrence (Top Eliminator), Tyler Salsman (Mod Eliminator), Cade Janecek (Stock Eliminator), David Merchant (Pro Comp Flat), Shelby Ebert (Pro Mod) and Brandon Hampel (Personal Watercraft).

Eliminations are tentatively set to begin at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Fans purchasing tickets to the drag boat races on Saturday will receive free admission to Saturday night's Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series action on the dirt track. KY3 Digital and O-Zone Present Fan Appreciation Night with food and drink specials, including $1 nachos and cheese, $2 hot dogs and $2 soft drinks and water.

Classes in action on the dirt track will be the Warsaw Auto Marine & RV ULMA Late Models, the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds, O'Reilly Auto Parts Street Stocks and the Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods. The USRA Modifieds will run a 25-lap, $1,000-to-win main event. The Show-Me Vintage Racing Club Cars will be a guest class, with several of their cars on display on the midway prior to the event.
