Stuffed Tomatoes
From food network
|
Growing up, stuffed tomatoes were a favorite in the McBride household. I have fond memories of my Grandmother serving them at all our summer cookouts. Her version was made with a traditional homemade bread stuffing (bread, butter, onions celery, fresh parsley and S&P). She would take the scooped out portion of the tomato and blend it into the stuffing. I didn't come across any recipes like that, but this one from the food network looks tasty too!

Every once in awhile we like to divulge a best kept secret - like the mysterious Dragon Bread at Tomblers Bakery. This sweet and hearty bread has somewhat of a cult following and some say it harkens back to medieval times. Brown sugar and molasses provide the sweetness while wheat flour, oats, walnuts, flax seeds, wheat berries, and cranberries make it rustic and healthy. And a little cocoa adds a unique flavor twist!
