Dear St. George Families,
St. George School will be following the extended stay-at-home guidelines as issued by Governor Edwards and endorsed by Bishop Duca until at least April 30th. Unfortunately, we will not return to campus on the planned date of April 13th. This is not unexpected but disappointing, nevertheless. The best interests of our students and families must take precedence.
Therefore, online academics will continue for month of April and possibly beyond. All of us at SGS are grateful for the work that our students are doing under difficult circumstances. Our teachers are working diligently everyday to deliver meaningful instruction, tempered with understanding, flexibility, love and compassion. We are in this together.
Our Easter Break will begin Monday, April 6th and continue thru Monday, April 13th. During the break students will not have any assignments to complete. All assignments given this week will be due no later than 8:00pm of Sunday, April 5th.
I know that many of you have questions about the many events and activities that have been cancelled or postponed and if those events can be rescheduled. Honestly, you have more questions than I have answers at this time. We are continuing to evaluate each day as new information is received. We are continuing to move forward, and I will keep you updated as relevant information becomes available.
There is a great deal of uncertainty and stress in our lives brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. The changes to our daily lives have been difficult. At SGS we are a family of families, don't hesitate to reach out to your teacher or administration for help. Please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or Mrs. Fontenot at email@example.com or Mrs. James at firstname.lastname@example.org
My prayers continue to be with all of you.
