Back-To-School Bash - Thursday, August 4 , 5 - 7 PM
Uniform Sale - Thursday, August 4 , 5 - 7 PM
Gently used uniforms will be for sale in the cafeteria during the Back-To-School Bash. Please consider signing up to help out for a shift or two. Help is especially needed for set up! 
Volunteers can shop early. Students can sign up as well for service hours.
Carpool Volunteers Needed - Please Sign Up
It's hard to believe but school is back in full swing starting Monday, August 8th. This year we will have 2 carpool lines, so to help our families know where to go and keep the lines moving, we will need quite a few volunteers to help with carpool duties for the first few days of school. We are looking for volunteers to help us cover both morning and afternoon carpool from Monday, August 8th - Friday, August 12th. Please consider signing up to help.
Bus Riders - Please Note
Post cards noting bus route assignments from the EBR Parish School System were mailed. Look for your card with your bus assignment to arrive in the mail soon.

All volunteers are required to successfully complete the volunteer certification as mandated by the Diocese of Baton Rouge. Find volunteer certification details HERE. The summer is a great time to complete the volunteer certification, including your background check. Lines for fingerprinting at the State Police Office are shorter during the summer.

Upon completion of the online volunteer sign up form you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please check your spam or junk email or complete the form again.

Immunizations / Medication Drop-Off / Update Important Student Data
NOTE TO PARENTS OF KINDERGARTNERS, 6th GRADERS, AND NEW STUDENTS

  • Please have your child's required vaccinations completed and return the updated immunization record to the school office by Thursday, August 4, 2022.
  • For your convenience, you may upload student's updated certified records of immunization here.

Policies and Procedures
  • New tardy time - 7:43 - update in handbook.
  • Special sweatshirt for middle school students (6th-8th grade) - Navy blue sweatshirt with white letters will be available at uniform stores by the end of next week - update in the handbook.
  • Please read the entire parent/student handbook as many policies were updated and added.
  • Please note that 6th - 8th graders will dress out for PE. Uniforms for PE class may be purchased at the local uniform stores.
School Supply Lists (Grade 2-8)
School supply kits for Grades 2-8 may be found here.

Grade PreK - 1st: Students were charged a supply fee in lieu of ordering supply kits. Supplies will be in PreK - 1st grade classes on the first day of school.

Grades 2 - 8: Supplies will brought over the first few days of school. Homeroom teachers will send directions by email.
Carpool Signs
Parents, please make a carpool sign to hang in your car for pickup on the first day of school. The sign should have the family name in big letters and the youngest child's name along with their grade level.
St. George School will supply two carpool signs per family. Your youngest child will receive these on the first day of school for grades 1st - 8th. PreK and K will receive theirs at the parent orientation/meeting on Friday, August 5th.
Summer Reading - Grade 1st - 8th
Students entering grades 1st - 8th are expected to have completed the summer reading book by the first day of school. Activities and grades will be given at the start of school based on the novels and books listed here.
Cantor Auditions 2022-2023 School Year
All students in grades 7 and 8 are eligible to audition for SGS Cantor for the upcoming school year. Cantor Auditions (closed auditions) will be held on Tuesday, August 9, after school, from 3:10 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the St. George Church. Athletic Dragon News
Welcome Back Dragons! The athletic department is excited to get the new school year underway and fall sports started! Here is a look at the timeline of sports offered this year:

Fall Sports- August-early November
Cross Country- boys and girls in 4th-8th
Football- boys in 4th-8th 
Girls Basketball- 3rd-8th
Swimming-boys and girls in 5th-8th

Winter Sports-November-early March
Boys Basketball- 3rd-8th 

Spring Sports-March-May
Girls Volleyball- 5th-8th
Track & Field- 5th-8th

Intramurals-more specific info for each to follow:
K-1 boys and girls will begin after Labor Day
3rd/4th Girls Flag Football in Dec-Feb
7th/8th Boys volleyball beginning in March

Girls Basketball:
There is a mandatory parent meeting for girls basketball on Tuesday, August 9 at 6:00pm in the gym. At least one parent must be present if you have a daughter interested in playing basketball. If you have not completed the google form to sign your daughter up to participate please do so ASAP: 2022 Girls Basketball

Boys Football:
Football is open to any boy in 4th-8th grade. Practices will begin Monday, August 8th, the coaches have sent out information for the individual teams practice schedule for the first week or two. If you have not signed up for boys football, or if you think you signed up but have not received any communication from the coaches please email Ashley Bourgeois asap so you can get you the information needed for your son to play football.

Cross Country:
Cross country is open to all boys and girls in 4th-8th grade. The coaches are eager to get the season started! If you are not signed up yet and would like more information on the cross country team email Ashley Bourgeois

Swimming:
The swim team is open to boys and girls in 5th-8th grade. An informational email was sent out earlier this week with a sign up. If you have not signed up yet please do so with this link: 2022 Swim Team

2022-2023 Dragon Hearts Club and Divine Mercy Girls is open!
Dragon Hearts Club and Divine Mercy Girls are service clubs for girls in grades Kindergarten - 5th and 6th - 8th. Our motto is “Do small things with great love” from Saint Teresa. We are focused on friends, having fun while serving others and learning about our Catholic faith.
