The Catholic Schools’ Office recently published on their website that the CSAA (Catholic Schools Athletic Association) is working on a plan to begin 6th-8th grade sports in January. The details of which sports will be played, when they will be played and how they will be played within COVID guidelines are being devised. This is exciting news and it gives us hope that we will be able to start, not only athletics, but some of our other regular after school activities.
As exciting as this is, there are a lot of details that need to be worked out. In the next month, we will be looking at all the possibilities to see which programs we can feasibly offer. We will need to take into account the COVID guidelines, who will moderate each program, available space, and the safety of all students and staff. We hope that this will provide students with the opportunity to explore and participate in activities outside of the classroom in a safe environment while meeting their social and emotional needs.
Please pray for all school personnel as we navigate through this and do our best to respond to the diverse needs of all our students and families.
