We are excited to welcome 9 new faculty and staff members!

Mrs. Tammy Joseph - Assistant Principal
Mrs. Tammy Joseph is excited to serve as Assistant Principal of 4th - 8th grade at St. George. Mrs. Joseph graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and later completed an elementary education certification program at Southeastern Louisiana University. She then earned her master’s degree in Educational Technology Leadership at Nicholls State University. Mrs. Joseph began her career in education in 2002 as a middle school math and science teacher and technology coordinator at Holy Rosary Catholic School. In 2009, her family moved back to Baton Rouge where she taught middle school math and English while taking on different leadership roles at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School. She then moved into an administrative position at Most Blessed Sacrament in 2016 and guided the faculty in curriculum mapping, supervised and evaluated teachers, created schedules, and was part of the
accreditation team. Mrs. Joseph and her husband Jay have one son, Austin who recently graduated from St. Michael High School. Mrs. Joseph feels blessed to be a part of the rich traditions of academic excellence and faith formation at St. George!

Katie Becker - K1 Assistant
Mrs. Katie Becker is excited to serve as a Kindergarten Assistant Teacher in Mrs. Brock’s class this year. She earned two degrees from LSU and enjoys reading, yoga, walking the LSU lakes, and LSU sports. Katie just celebrated her 30th wedding anniversary with her husband, Wes. They have two grown children, Matt and Allison, who both graduated from LSU. She is excited to help K1 students learn, grow, and witness their faith formation. 

Tiffany Brown - 8th Grade Science 
Mrs. Tiffany Brown graduated from LSU with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership. Mrs. Brown began her teaching career at Kenilworth Science & Technology with Teach For America, before working to bring Cristo Rey High School to Baton Rouge. Most recently she has taught 7th and 8th grade math and science at St. Aloysius before spending a couple of years at home. She and her husband, Hunter, spend most of their time chasing after their 3 young children (Jackson, Charlotte Mae, & Tucker ), and she is excited to join the SGS family this year!

Katie Dehart - PreK1 Teacher  
Miss Dehart will begin her third year teaching Pre-K. She graduated from Nicholls State
University with a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary studies. She has since continued her education through Louisiana Resource Center for Educators. She grew up in Bayou L’Ourse, Louisiana, and she loves to go home and visit her family often. Miss Dehart cannot to spend the next year learning and growing here at St. George! 

Jolie Falcon - 2nd grade Assistant 
Miss Jolie Falcon attended St. George from Kindergarten through 8th grade. She is a graduate from St. Michael and LSU with a degree in Child and Family Studies. In the fall, she will be starting graduate school at LSU to obtain her Masters in Child and Family Studies. She has been an aftercare employee since 2014. Her family has been a part of the St. George School and Church community for over 30 years.

Sean Marcantel - Technology Coordinator 
Mr. Sean Marcantel is looking forward to starting work as the new Technology Coordinator for St. George. Mr. Marcantel has worked in the technology field for the last 25 years from network engineer to Technology Sales, Consulting, and Sales. He is excited to be back in the school system having worked at Episcopal High School as a network engineer and administrator. His stepson and son both attended St. George, and he currently has a 6th grader enrolled. He is looking forward to a great year and proud to be part of the St. George Dragon Family.

Michael Mire - 6th/8th grade Religion 
Mr. Michael Mire has over 40 years of experience as a middle school teacher and administrator in public schools in Jeff Davis and Calcasieu Parishes. During this same time, Mr. Mire has taught religious education courses in parish religious education programs as well as becoming the religious education coordinator for two church parishes. Spanning over 35 years of experience working with students ranging from first through twelfth grade Christian Formation and Catholic Programs, Mr. Mire also earned his certification from Holy Cross College in New Orleans as a religious education coordinator. Following retirement from public schools, Michael and his wife, Tammy, relocated to Baton Rouge to be near their grandchildren. They are members of St. Jude Parish where he serves as an Extraordinary Minister of Communion. Most recently, Mr. Mire served St. George School as a long-term substitute during the 2019 - 2020 school year.

Dawn Richard - PreK4 Assistant
Mrs. Dawn Richard will be assisting Mrs. Dreher in PreK this year. She is the proud mother of a St George graduate (class of 2015) and Eagle Scout. She worked at Jefferson Baptist Mother's Day Out. She is a member of the St George 9:30 am choir. She has been an employee of the before and after care program for 13 years. Mrs. Richard started in January as an assistant in second grade and is excited to be moving to PreK as an assistant for the new school year. Mrs. Richard says, “St George is a wonderful, faith-based school. I am very blessed to be here and am praying for a wonderful school year.”

Jessica Williams - PreK 3 Assistant
Mrs. Jessica Williams will be assisting Mary Honore in PreK this year. Mrs. Williams graduated from LSU and is certified to teach PK-3rd grade. After teaching Kindergarten for ten years and substituting at St. George for two years, Mrs. Williams is excited to be back working full time. She and her husband, Daniel, have three children at St. George: Tyler (5th), Andrew (3rd), and Cate (1st). They enjoy spending time together, going to the beach, and LSU and Saints football! Go Dragons!

Medication and School Supply Drop-Off

Medication Drop-Off

  • Tuesday, August 4th, 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM
  • Medication along with required forms will be received by the school nurses in the carpool line (Gr. 2 - 4 and older siblings) (see map and instructions). School nurses will walk to the cars in the line. Please have your mask on.

Parents, remember to update your child's immunizations, if applicable.

School Supply Drop-Off

  • School Supply Drop-Off has been canceled.
  • Please be on the lookout for an email regarding school supplies from your child's teacher.

Pencil bags ( $4 ) are available in the school office. Parents may send money in an envelope to school with their student. The pencil bag will be sent home the same day.

Student Class Placement

  • Back-To-School Bash scheduled for Monday, August 3rd has been canceled.
  • The ReWeb Parent Portal will be open to all parents at 5:00 PM on Monday, August 3, for parents to see their child's class placement.

  • An email reminder with instructions to find class placement will be sent to parents Monday afternoon.

Please return hard copies of all volunteer paperwork to the school office. Emailed paperwork cannot be accepted. Contact Susan Giles if you have any questions.
