Updated COVID-19 Food and Allergy Policy
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, students will be eating lunch in their classrooms instead of the cafeteria. This limitation of space will mean that ALL types of nuts and nut products, including but not limited to loose nuts, peanut butter, almond butter, Nutella, peanut butter crackers, granola bars containing nuts and any type of nut product, are prohibited on the school campus. No school can be completely allergen-free (e.g. “peanut-free'), but our school does wish to partner with parents to be prepared in appropriate management and care of students with severe allergies. In order to protect our students who suffer from severe food allergies while still allowing the opportunity for all to enjoy school, the Covid-19 Food and Allergy Policy will be enforced regarding all food and drinks to be consumed on campus or in classrooms. This includes lunch and all snacks. St. George School will hopefully be able to return to the previous policy of allowing nuts products at lunch when we are not space restricted from this pandemic. Thank you so much for your cooperation in taking this extra step to protect all of our students!
