Principal's Message

St. George Students are awesome scientists!

As part of our focus on STEM, students in all grade levels from PreK through 8th grade begin their science units with the scientific method. Our 6th graders participated in a crime scene activity. 7th grade students are studying plant growth.

Through the scientific method, students create hypotheses, collect and record data, graph data, and draw conclusions.

PreK students conducted a letter rescue STEM activity.

Stewardship Project - Sock It To Childhood Cancer

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

“Sock It to Childhood Cancer” Stewardship Project:

Now until Thursday, August 31

Our stewardship project for this month will focus on developing compassion for those who are ill. In advance of childhood cancer awareness month in September, we continue to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Our very own Dragon, Alexander, continues to receive cancer treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Please keep Alexander and his family in your prayers.

St. George students are invited to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by donating $1 to wear any silly socks on the day of our very own

St. Jude Walk - Thursday, August 31 in the gym beginning at 7:20 - 7:40 am.

Thank you for helping St. George School “sock it to childhood cancer".

Another way to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is by joining our team,

Dragons for St. Jude - All for Alexander,

for the St. Jude Walk/Run in Baton Rouge on Saturday, September 30.

Why we choose to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital:

  • St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer.
  •  No family ever receives a bill from St. Jude – not for treatment, travel, housing, or food. St. Jude wants the family to focus on the health of the child.
  • The impact of the St. Jude Baton Rouge Affiliate Clinic at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health is felt throughout the community making it possible for some patients to receive treatment locally.
  • All research is shared freely with doctors and hospitals throughout the world. Any local hospital can utilize the treatments and protocols developed at St. Jude.
