Grandparents Day - Friday, November 6th

IMPORTANT GRANDPARENTS DAY NOTES

  • All students should be checked out from their homeroom classrooms no later than 12:30 pm.
  • There will be no afternoon carpool, no afternoon buses, and no aftercare.

It's time again for us to WELCOME our WONDERFUL GRANDPARENTS to St. George Catholic School on Friday, November 6th!

Please help us celebrate them by providing a fabulous reception sponsored by our awesome St. George parents. Volunteers are also needed on Grandparent's Day.

November Stewardship Project

For our November Stewardship Project, our students are in the process of preparing Thanksgiving baskets for the needy. It is at this time that we consciously reflect and give thanks for the many blessings God has bestowed on us. We will offer a special prayer over items at our mass on Friday, November 20, 2026.

Students are asked to bring a food item and $1.00 (suggested amount) to purchase a turkey or chicken to fill a basket. Homeroom teachers have assigned a food item to each student in order to get a balanced food basket from each class. These food baskets are distributed by the St. George Chapter of the St. Vincent de Paul Society to needy families residing in St. George Parish. Each year, we are able to provide a basket for approximately 40 families.

Through this service project we have an excellent opportunity to teach and reinforce the spirit of generosity. You may wish to consider the following:

  • Have your child work at some “little job” around the house to earn the cost of the contribution.
  • Encourage your child to give from his/her savings.

Thank you for your generous cooperation as we share our gifts with those less fortunate.

The St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry is currently running low on soup, canned meat, tuna, chili, Ravioli, Mac and Cheese, peanut butter, jelly, pancake mix and pancake syrup. Please consider donating an extra food item.

We are excited to announce that St. George Catholic School will be hosting its school-wide spelling bee on Wednesday, January 13, 2027! Students in grades 1-8 will have an opportunity to participate. Students in these grades were given the Scripps initial list of words to study this week.

Please see the timeline of events below:

  • Round 1: Monday, November 30 - classroom written bee (all students participate)
  • Round 2: Tuesday, December 1 - classroom oral bee (top 5 students in each class participate)
  • Round 3: Wednesday, January 13 - school-wide spelling bee (top 4 students in each grade compete to be the grade-level winner)

We are thrilled to offer this opportunity for students to showcase their spelling skills and practice speaking in front of an audience!
