Bus Service Registration for 2025-2026

Immunization, Medical, and Emergency Contact Notes

IMMUNIZATION STATUS:

Every parent should review their child’s vaccination status with their child’s pediatrician. Every student’s immunization status should be up to date and submitted to the school by August 1, 2025.

Special Note to INCOMING 6th Graders

Depending on your child’s vaccination history, according to the American Board of Pediatrics, a second varicella vaccine (provides immunity against chicken pox) as well as another Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis) may be recommended.

Please make arrangements with your child’s health care provider to ensure immunization status is up to date prior to August 7, 2025. 

Please upload current documents to the immunization tab on the school website prior to the first day of school. 

If you have any questions, please contact your child’s health care provider for further guidance.


NOTICE PURSUANT TO LA. R.S. § 17:170(E)(2)

In accordance with Act No. 675 (HB 47 of the Louisiana Legislature’s 2024 Regular Session) and La. R.S. § 17:170(E)(2), please be advised of the following: La. R.S. § 17:170(E)(1) provides that “No person attending or seeking to enter any school or facility enumerated in Subsection A of this Section shall be required to comply with the provisions of this Section, including any additional immunization or proof of immunity requirement adopted pursuant to the provisions of this Section, if the person is a distance learner or if the person or his parent or guardian submits either a written statement from a physician stating that the procedure is contraindicated for medical reasons, or a written dissent from the student or his parent or guardian.”


HEALTH AND EMERGENCY FORMS:

All information should be reviewed and updated each summer. If your child has a medical condition that requires medication, please make sure that medication is also listed on the form under medication and the reason the child takes the medication is also listed. Find your child’s health and emergency form in your FACTS Family Portal under Web Forms / Family Demographic Form.

Parents' names and contact information must be included in the Emergency Contact section along with other listed contacts. 


Medication Drop Off Dates

The designated medication drop off days are July 23, 2025 from 8 am to 3 pm and August 1, 2025 from 8 am -12 pm. Plan to drop off medication and completed paperwork together. We cannot accept one without the other or incomplete forms. If a picture is needed, please attach a recent photo. All medication for Aftercare should be delivered at this time as well. Please make sure your student's health and emergency form in FACTS is up to date PRIOR to meeting with us.

Bus Service Note for May 22nd and May 23rd

Due to calendar revisions made for EBR Schools, EBR Transportation will be able to provide bus service for the morning and afternoon of Thursday, May 22, 2025, and on Friday, May 23, 2025, they will provide transportation for the morning only.

Summer Office Hours / Items Left on Last Day / Lost & Found

All students must be dismissed via carpool. 


2025 Summer Office Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm


The School Office will be closed on the following days: May 26th - May 30th and July 3rd


Leftover Classroom Items:

Any items left in the classroom on the last day of school, including (but not limited to) report cards, school supplies, and personal belongings, will be available for pick up in the school office until June 26th. Any items not picked up by 12 pm on June 26th will be discarded or donated.


Lost and Found Items: Items not retrieved from the Lost and Found before the end of school will be discarded or donated.

Summer Reading in Preparation for the 2025-2026 School Year

Kindergarten: Incoming Kindergarten students should read or be read books of their choice. Color one picture on the Kindergarten summer reading log for every 20 minutes of reading completed during the summer break. Bring the summer reading log to school on the first day of Kindergarten.


1st grade: Incoming first graders should read or be read 5 books of their choice. Students will choose one of the 5 books to complete the book report provided to be turned in on the first day of school. 


2nd grade: The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein


3rd grade: The Chalk Box Kid by Clyde Robert Bulla


4th grade: Skinnybones by Barbara Park 


5th grade: The Fairy Tale Detectives by Michael Buckley


6th grade: Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson

Students should be prepared to do an in class assignment on their summer reading book when they return to school.

Child Nutrition Program Notes

Please visit the Child Nutrition Program website for information regarding meal prices, free/ reduced meals program, student meal accounts, and payment options.


Please note that according to the LA. School Food Service Policy Guidance Manual, outside restaurant food and soft drinks are not allowed in the school cafeteria. Your compliance is appreciated and necessary.

Dragon Hearts Club - Urgent Need for 2025-2026 Volunteers

Since it was founded in 2017, Dragon Hearts Club has been a cornerstone of the SGS community. However, we are currently facing a critical shortage of volunteers and will not be able to continue our activities into the coming year without your support.

 

Your involvement can make a significant difference in the lives of our girls, who benefit from this unique program that only exists here at St. George, by providing them with the guidance they need to grow into compassionate and caring individuals.
