Transition to 10-Point Grading Scale

In October, St. George families received a letter from Father Jamin, Vicar General, explaining the Diocese’s decision to adopt the 10-point grading scale by August 1, 2025. The letter also detailed the reasons for this change and the implementation process. You can read it here.

This summer, we are updating all relevant systems and materials—including Gradebook, FACTS, report cards, handbooks, website, and presentations—to ensure a smooth transition.

Campus Safety

I met with Dr. Cindy Ryals, Assistant Superintendent of Catholic Schools, to review and update St. George’s safety plans, ensuring they are thorough and clearly communicated. Additionally, I met with Chief of Police Todd Morris, Mayor Dustin Yates, and members of the HOT division of the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office to discuss safety concerns related to the homeless population near our school. They shared plans the City of St. George is implementing to address this issue and provided guidance on managing trespassing incidents on campus. We are grateful for their partnership and support.

Summer Fun on Campus

Alongside our preparations, our campus has been filled with energy and joy as we hosted Cheer Camp, Dance practices, Basketball Camp, and Vacation Bible School. The sight and sound of children on campus bring great joy, and we eagerly await the return of all our students in August!

Hope your family's summer has been a time of refreshment and fun. Looking forward to welcoming our students back to campus in early August.

7th & 8th Grade Service Hours

"SERVICE IN GOD’S NAME” (SIGN) is a community service program required for middle school students at St. George. The community service requirement was developed to help students become aware of and involved in their community. The community at-large offers students a variety of placements for which they can volunteer while learning about the needs, concerns, and challenges existing in their community. It is our hope that this initial experience will spark an interest in our students to continue pursuing community projects.
