The St. George Book Fair is fast approaching! Please take note of the dates below:

St George School is aware that East Baton Rouge Transportation's WheresTheBus 3rd party app, is experiencing a software issue. EBRT is working diligently on the resolution. 

We are blessed to have the benefit of the WheresTheBus app as a tool to track the busses. However, as a technology tool, it’s not always 100%. 

As each family's information is updated by EBRT Sissy Duncan is notified and in turn notifies the parents by email. Thank you for your patience in waiting to receive your email notification from Sissy Duncan.

Morning Carpool: Students should remain seated while in the carpool line. For your child's safety, they should not have heads and hands outside of windows or sunroofs.

In the back carpool line, students should not exit the car until a duty teacher is at the car to help them exit safely.

Afternoon Carpool: Please display the school-provided (orange or blue) carpool sign from a visor or rear view mirror to assist teachers with visibility. A pants hanger with clips make a great sign holder.

Any adult (18 years and older) wanting to volunteer with children of St. George Catholic School must fulfill the requirements as mandated by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Diocese of Baton Rouge.

If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity at St. George Catholic School, you must complete the Child Protection certification process as mandated by the Diocese. ALL requirements must be met. The process can take several weeks from start to approval. You may not volunteer until the process is complete, and you have been approved by the school and the Diocese.  Anyone interested in coaching a sports team at St. George School must complete the process and be approved before practice begins. You only have to complete the process one time. Please return all required paperwork to the main school office to the attention of Susan Giles.

Process:

1. Anyone interested in volunteering at St. George Catholic School should submit their contact information below to complete the pre-check process for child protection. 
2. You will then be emailed a special code and directed to the CAPS website where you will create a new user account as a volunteer for St.George School and complete the Serving Vulnerable Populations online video.
3. The email will also include the other requirements for the certification process (a background check at IdentoGO, a declaration form and privacy pages).
4. You must also provide a copy of your Driver’s License or Government issued ID.  
5.  Please return all required paperwork to the main school office to the attention of Susan Giles.

Please visit the Child Nutrition Program website for information regarding meal prices, free/ reduced meals program, student meal accounts, and payment options.

Please note that according to the LA. School Food Service Policy Guidance Manual, outside restaurant food and soft drinks are not allowed in the school cafeteria. Your compliance is appreciated and necessary.

A head count for refreshments is needed so please sign up if you will attend the SGS Girls Chorus Karaoke/Pizza Meet & Greet on Friday, Aug. 22, after school, 3 pm to 4:30 pm in the KAC.

• Deadline for applications to Pack 136 Cub Scouts is September 12. 

The 1st deadline to order is today, Thursday, August 14th for the t-shirts to be received for the first Out-Of-Uniform day.
