HELLO FROM PRINCIPAL LOWE

Hi Parents,
Okay, everyone has been telling me all year long that Colorado weather is tricky, but really - a thundersnow??? What is up with that? And this weekend of all times with our gala scheduled!

The good thing is, the gala is proceeding as planned and I'm very excited to be a part of it this year! The silent auction items are amazing and the staff created pigs? Well, what can I say except that we have an incredibly talented, creative group of folks here who have produced some amazing pigs!

I would also like to give a shout out to our amazing art teachers and their aide, Mr. Sumnicht, Ms. Corbet, and Ms. Jensen on the fantastic job they did showcasing our student artwork at the district show. I was able to visit last night and I was so proud to be a part of our school and the programs we have available for our students.

Have a wonderful (safe!) weekend and I hope to see everyone at the Gala  tomorrow night!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are halfway through the Board of Directors Elections process!  Applications for new Board members have been received and can be  reviewed here . During the next few weeks membership of the Flagstaff Academy community will have an opportunity to do their part in the governance process by learning more about our candidates and casting a vote for their desired Board members. This year we have five (5) candidates running for three (3) open Board seats. In addition to reviewing prospective Board member applications, you will also have an  opportunity to meet the candidates at the  Candidate Forum  on Tuesday, April 19th immediately following Flagstaff's  Annual Meeting  (a.k.a. the "State of the School" presentation) which starts at 6:30 p.m. in the LMC.

Important Board of Directors Election Dates:
  • Tuesday, April 19: Annual "State of the School" Meeting and Candidates Forum
  • Friday, May 6: Ballots available via Friday Folders, online, and at school
  • Monday-Wednesday, May 9-11: Ballot collection opens; ballots accepted in Driveline or inside school
  • Wednesday, May 11: Ballot collection closes at 5:00 p.m. MDT
  • Friday, May 13: Election results announced via Board Blast
Serving on the Flagstaff Academy Board of Directors is a job of significant importance to the mission and vision of our school. I hope that each of you will take the time to become an informed voter this election and VOTE!

Debbie Nelson
Vice President and Elections Chair

2015-2016 PARENT SURVEY

On Tuesday, April 12, you received an email from Dr. Josh Packard and the Social Research Lab (SRL) inviting you to take the 2015-2016 Flagstaff Academy Parent Survey, in collaboration with and leadership from the School Accountability Committee, or SAC. Please take the 5-10 minutes to provide us your valuable feedback to continue improving Flagstaff Academy to serve your family and can be completed on your desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.

We have some really fun incentives for classes who have the highest survey return rates - the top elementary and middle school classes will get to have a "Free Dress" day. As well, our PTO is donating five Flagstaff Spirit wear t-shirts for survey respondents, which will be raffled off to those respondents who enter the drawing at the end of the survey. SRL will have the names of the drawing winners, and anonymity will be maintained.

We count on your feedback and thank you!
